Major Blowe retired from the US Army in June 1994, after 18 years of active military service. Now in his 24th year, he opened the Army JROTC Panther Battalion at Brainerd High School in July 1994, as the Senior Army Instructor. Over the years, he has shared in mentoring well over 2600 cadets which have been enrolled in the program. His primary purpose in pursuing JROTC as a second career was & continues to be 'to influence young people in a positive manner', while endeavoring to mold them into more responsible citizens. Major Blowe and his wife, Mamie, have five children and seven grandchildren.
Master Sergeant Velez retired from the US Army in January 1997 after 24 years of military service. In February 1997 he joined the Panther Battalion as an Army Instructor. As a combat arms soldier during his career, he brings a unique perspective which provides a broad spectrum of knowledge to cadets. MSG Velez and his wife, Digna, have three daughters and two grandchildren.
Sergeant First Class Prout retired from the US Army in 2006 after 21 years of military service. He served as an Army Instructor at Guthrie High School in Guthrie, OK from 2006 to 2010. In August 2010 he joined the Panther Battalion as an Army Instructor. His primary purpose is to instruct and assist cadets in the development of their future goals and plans. He has one daughter and one granddaughter that was born in August 2011.
